A drunk guy Friday night attacked a girl using a sharp object after a dispute happened between them on Yarmouk University Street in Irbid, northern Jordan.
Eye witnesses told 'Ammon News' that the guy was walking with three other men and were chasing a group of girls in the street adjacent to Yarmouk University. The guy harrassed one of the girls, which instigated a verbal dispute between the two.
The guy then proceeded to hit the girl with a sharp object, believed to be a broken glass bottle.
Police were able to arrest the guy, while his companions had managed to escape.
In a different account, Press Spokesman of the Public Security Directorate (PSD), Major Muhammad Khatib said that the fight erupted between two guys (with criminal records) in Irbid, and one of them hit the other with a knife.
Khatib noted that a girl happened to be at the same place at the time of the fight and the knife had hit her in the face causing minor cuts.
Major Khatib told 'Ammon News' that the girl is in good condition and had been released from the hospital, adding that the police were able to arrest the guys and began an investigation into the cause of the fight
